OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY SERVICES

Lake Chelan Food Bank

This thriving ministry is supported by St. Andrew's and staffed by members of several area churches. Food gathering is continuing and

is distributed to those in need on Tuesday and Saturday mornings

from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at 417 S. Bradley Street in Downtown Chelan, throughout the year.

Wooden Crosses

St. Andrew's parishioners have given away thousands of small, olive-wood crosses at community parades, First Friday events, and any time the church is open as a material witness to Christ.

Episcopal Relief and Development

In addition to the regularly budgeted contributions to the mission of the Episcopal Church around the world, special contributions are made through the Relief and Development Fun that provides emergency grants and effective development projects in the most-stricken areas of the globe. Offering-contribution envelopes for this purpose are circulated once or twice per year.

Christian Presence in Downtown Chelan

St. Andrew’s keeps the doors to the historic log church open on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the summer tourist season as a quiet,

cool, and restful place to meditate or pray. In addition, the church courtyard is open 365 days per year for everyone’s enjoyment.

Our desire is to be a visible Episcopal (Christian) presence in the

heart of Chelan's commercial center.

Outside Organizations

St. Andrew’s facilities are used, on occasion, by a variety of community and local service organizations. For instance, Alcoholics Anonymous holds meetings on a regular basis. The church Courtyard is also a setting for Bach Fest concerts in July. A small donation is requested of such groups and they, in turn, provide their activities and support to the wider community, regardless of the religious affiliation of their membership.
